The world of accessories is full of collaborations, and since not everything is smartwatches, traditional watches still have their place in the market, especially if they are nostalgic and have good taste.

Casio has launched its most retro watch so far this year: a G-Shock that borrows the design from Rubik’s cube. The GAE-2100RC-1AER is an official collaboration with Rubik’s, maker of the classic puzzle, and features an interchangeable bezel that recalls the faces of the cube.

Casio’s G-Shock range is often inspired by eye-catching designs – from volcanic lightning bolts to automotive components. And, in recent months, its designers have dared with completely new concepts for the firm (although this Casio is new).

The new GAE-2100RC-1AER, however, is a classic digital watch that maintains the traditional additions. It features alarm, countdown, stopwatch, auto-calendar, dual time and world time, and that’s about it. Because Casio also claims the traditional watch.

And, as we said, it is very resistant. Despite its toyish look, it’s a solidly built watch with Casio’s Carbon Core Guard. to protect its internal components from shock and vibration, and is topped with a mineral glass lens.
