Pokémon GO arguably finally makes its GO Plus gadget as good as Gotcha

In Pokémon GO, Trainers can use a GO Plus device to catch monsters and rotate PokéStops without constantly checking their phone. Now indications have been found that the function of the gadget will be improved soon. We at MeinMMO show you what users can look forward to in the future.

What is the GO Plus? The GO Plus is a gadget designed to make playing Pokémon GO easier. The small device can be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth, which enables pairing with the game.

So it recognizes when you are near a PokéStop or a Pokémon and vibrates. With the help of a button on the device, you can then trigger a catch attempt or turn the PokéStop without having to pick up your smartphone.

The Pokéminers, a group of dataminers, have now found clues in the game code that there could be an improvement to the GO Plus in the future. We’ll show you what it’s all about.

What should be improved with the GO Plus?

As the Pokéminers announce in the release of their latest find on January 28th, there is new information about the GO Plus in the game code. Accordingly, the function of an automatic snapping and turning should be stored. The source code looks like this (via pokeminers.com):

These will probably be available for both the GO Plus and the virtual Plus. The data miners had already discovered the latter in October in connection with a Plus simulator in the game code. According to their assessments, this could be a paid service that will be established in the game in the future and has similar functions to the GO Plus (via pokeminers.com).

Why is the new feature so good?

Previously, to spin PokéStops and catch Pokémon, Trainers always had to independently press the button to perform the action. Even if you don’t have to constantly check your cell phone for this, your attention is still directed to an external device. Trainers have been criticizing this for a long time and want an automatic catch and rotation mechanism.

The competing product, the Gotcha, shows that such a function is possible in principle. This gadget, which is intended to bring the same benefits as the GO Plus, is already capable of turning the PokéStops or catching Pokémon without the trainer having to do anything.

Previous options for autocatch with the GO Plus: Some trainers have found another way to make the GO Plus autocatch already work. So they resoldered the device accordingly.

With the implementation of this new function, however, a great wish would be fulfilled for many coaches. In this way, all users of the GO Plus could finally enjoy not constantly paying attention to their little companion vibrating and then pressing the button manually. This should make catching easier in some situations.
