Jade sharks show CE Timmendorf the limits

“Sande is really a good team, playfully strong and homogeneous,” praised Michael Pohl, coach of the ice hockey regional league team CE Timmendorf, the Lower Saxony after the 9-1 thrashing victory on the Baltic Sea. The experienced coach found fewer warm words for his own team.

“You can certainly tell that the boys missed weeks due to the compulsory Corona break at the beginning of the year. But some players still haven’t realized that they can’t continue in the regional league as easily as in previous years in the state and association leagues. It’s a tough learning process that some people find very difficult to deal with,” Pohl complained.

Timmendorf loses his line after ten minutes

The East Holsteiners had against the Jadehaie aus Sande implemented the trainer’s route, acted disciplined and patiently from the defence. “The first ten minutes were really good, but then we left the path again and became careless – and Sande was severely punished for that. You simply cannot afford to be negligent in this league,” explained the 54-year-old.

“As a promoted team, we were prepared for such moments and knew that there would be difficult phases during the course of the season,” explains the CET. trainer, “but in such situations you can see who is ticking.” And that’s where Pohl looks very precisely, also announces consequences. “Of course, the behavior of the boys also plays a role in planning for the coming season. I want to know who is already working on ice hockey,” says the former Bundesliga and DEL professional.

Ice hockey: Regional league brace against HSV

That will also be important next weekend when they face HSV in a double pack (Fri., 8 p.m. in the ETC/Sun., 6.30 p.m. on the Stellingen ice rink). “The Hamburgers are a completely ripped-off squad. The 6:2 in the last game belies the true course of the game. It could have gone very differently,” Pohl also remembers the 2:3 home defeat against the Hanseatic League at the start of the season…
