An HBO series based on The Last of Us is currently filming.
Filming of the HBO series The The Last of Usgames are currently in full swing. We’ll probably have to wait a while before the eagerly awaited episodes are released. There are indications that it could even be as far as 2022, but the fact that important roles in the cast are still being cast speaks against it.
At least it is known where the series will run – but only in the USA. There they will be seen on HBO Max. But how is it in this country? After all, there is no pay station in Germany. There is no official announcement yet, but at least one very likely candidate.

You have to pay for the Last of Us series
HBO-Deal mit Sky: In concrete terms, this means that the The Last of Us series will most likely end up in this country first on the pay TV channel Sky. This is so likely because Sky and HBO have an exclusive deal for certain territories – including Germany – until 2025. Only then could HBO Max appear in this country at all.
If that turns out to be true, Sky offers Sky Ticket, a subscription service that can be canceled monthly, so you can unsubscribe from the service after the end of the first season of the Last of Us if you want.
Of course, a model like that of the Game of Thrones series would also be conceivable. Here, too, Sky had the first broadcast rights, but the individual episodes could be streamed via Amazon Prime, iTunes or the Google PlayStore just one day later.
Not yet confirmed: At the moment, however, this is not confirmed information, even if it is likely. We can’t be sure until there’s an official announcement. We will of course update this article as soon as more information follows.
