You want to choose this house in Hogwarts Legacy.

By the end of 2022, the wait will be over, when Harry Potter fans can finally plunge back into the magical universe and explore the famous Hogwarts School of Magic for themselves in the aptly named Hogwarts Legacy. Of course, not only brewing potions, riding brooms and meeting magical beasts is on the schedule, first of all students are put into one of four houses at Hogwarts.

We wanted to know from you in advance which would be the house of your choice. The survey showed that none of the house tables in the great hall would remain empty.

JK Rowling’s transphobia: The success of Hogwarts Legacy indirectly benefits Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who participates through existing publishing rights and the associated sale of the books. Rowling continues to be active in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and actively supports anti-trans policies in the UK. If you want to find out more about the topic, you will find, among other things, here and here Additional information.

A house is your narrow favorite

All in all 8,509 of you voted (as of April 12) and chose your house of choice. The votes are well distributed:

  • Ravenclaw (31%, 2,614 votes)
  • Slytherin (28%, 2,419 votes)
  • Gryffindor (23%, 1,972 votes)
  • Hufflepuff (18%, 1,504 votes)

With almost a third of the votes, the clever Ravenclaws secure the top spot. Close behind were the ambitious Slytherins, followed by the brave Gryffindors. The conclusion is formed by the tearful – with 18% but still well positioned – Hufflepuffs.

Whether and if how the house selection affects the gameplay is of course not yet known. As the survey shows, you also have your clear favorites regardless of this.

More on Hogwarts Legacy:

As always, we wanted to know from you in the comments what are the reasons behind your choice of house.

Simmonelli, for example, is still hesitating between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, but for different reasons: “If I had to choose, it would probably be Ravenclaw (I can identify with them the most) or Hufflepuff (actually out of curiosity about the common room and the comparatively little information from the books).”

It is also important for Durzo to be able to identify with the house himself, which is why Ravenclaw is chosen. Gryffindor, on the other hand, remains uninteresting because it doesn’t offer enough new things: “To be honest, I would find Gryffindor a bit boring, since you pretty much already know everything from the books.”

According to user metal_marv, he doesn’t know anything about Harry Potter, but still wants to choose Slytherin because the cunning reflects his own playing style.

Moosmann, on the other hand, doesn’t want to hear any of this and clearly makes no choice: “It’s not up to me, it’s up to the sorting hat to decide!”

Some of you are already theorizing as to how house selection might work in the game. While some want to choose for themselves, others wish the Sorting Hat to make a decision based on their traits. This could then be done with questions revealing traits about the character, or through already chosen attributes in the character editor.

We’ll find out what the houses bring and how the election works by the end of the year at the latest, when Hogwarts Legacy is released for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

As always, many thanks for your numerous participation!
