A new “cinematic action-adventure” in the Star Wars universe is in the works.

A new action-adventure in the Star Wars universe is in the works, as Lucasfilm Games recently announced. This time Skydance New Media is responsible for the development under the direction of Amy Hennig, who among other things is the author of the first three Unchartedgames is known.

This is Hennig’s second time working on a Star Wars title, most recently she was involved in the RagTag project at Visceral Games, which has since been cancelled.

New Star Wars game with Uncharted author

Not much is known about the new game, but it is said to be a “cinematic action-adventure with a new story in the legendary Star Wars galaxy”. in a skydanceblog entry Director Amy Henning states that she is excited to return to telling interactive stories in the world of Star Wars.

At least that sounds a lot like an adventure with a single player focus awaiting us again, which was actually the plan for Project RagTag. The game was then more often compared to Uncharted, should also be story-focused and include impressive action sequences – so much so that EA worried it just might perceived as an Uncharted clone will.

So it’s quite possible that at least parts of the project could also be incorporated into the new game at Skydance New Media. At least some gameplay scenes of the project that was canceled at the time still exist:
