Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released on July 29th

The Xenoblade Chronicles RPG series has an amazing reputation among Nintendo gamers. So far we’ve been assuming a September date for part 3, but the RPG hope for Switch is coming much earlier…

Even if the technology doesn’t look very fresh at first glance, a pretty fragrant JRPG is probably coming your way – and that on July 29th. The motto issued on the official Nintendo site “Fight to live. Live to fight.” has something of a fortune cookie or a war cookie, but Jens’ 90 rating for the predecessor was no coincidence. Original sound of the test: “…on the other hand, there is the exploration of an equally fascinating and dangerous Terra Incognita with changes of day, weather and tides that influence the game, breathtaking views again and again, bizarre creatures and touching stories.”

In Part 3, six soldiers from the nations of Aionios, Keves, and Agnus join forces “to uncover the truth behind the conflict. Their goal is the Swordmark – a land pierced by a giant sword.” In addition to the standard version, a Collector’s Edition will be released exclusively on the My Nintendo Store. This includes a special box with artwork by Masatsugu Saito, a hardcover art book (250+ pages) and a steel case. And you can see the package here.

At this point we dismiss you with a mono(lith)log from Executive Director Tetsuya Takahashi, because he must know best:

“Hello everyone. I’m Testuya Takahashi from Monolithsoft. It’s been nearly four years since the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and a year and a half since Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was released. Now there’s news about the latest game from MONOLITHSOFT: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (from 59.99€ at pre-order) . As the name suggests, it is the third installment in the Xenoblade Chronicles series. We’re currently working on the final details so that we can offer you the best possible game based on what we’ve learned throughout the series so far. Visually, the focus is on the huge sword of Mechonis and the corpse of the Uraya titan, which has a gigantic hole in it.

Surely many people were surprised when they saw the final scene in the trailer. What does this picture suggest? I can’t reveal that yet. But I can tell you that this scene was designed quite a long time ago. More specifically, the image came to us in the time between working on Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. So it’s not something that was recently added to the series. We believe this game will be entertaining for players who have played Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, as well as for those who are playing a title from the Xenoblade Chronicles series for the first time. The characters were designed by Masatsugo Saito, who also created the characters for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Koichi Mugitani created some of the key visuals for the game.

Unfortunately we can’t show them to you yet. But as you can see, people who have worked on Xenoblade Chronicles in the past are collaborating again to create this game. The music was also composed by artists who had previously worked on the series. The music for Xenoblade Chronicles was composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, Manami Kiyota, ACE (TOMOri Kudo, CHiCO), Kenji Hiramatsu and Mariam Acounnasr. Throughout the game, the music captures the unique atmosphere of Xenoblade Chronicles while venturing into a new challenge of incorporating the flute melody as a theme. The flute is actually a very important element of the game. A variety of other elements and themes are hidden in the trailer. We will reveal the details bit by bit soon. Xenoblade Chronicles is a brand new adventure that brings together the worlds of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and reveals their future. It’s still a little while before the game releases, but hopefully you’re already looking forward to it.”
