“Has Microsoft now also bought Nintendo?” Some users probably asked themselves this question when they discovered Super Mario in the Xbox store. For just four euros, the ad promised a 3D platformer starring everyone’s favorite plumber on Xbox. But a look at the name of the title should immediately make you suspicious: “Supertan Marioner 3D Infinity World Adventures”. So no Mario, just a cheap fake game.

Once Mario on the Xbox

The game was discovered by a few users, but now it’s entry been deleted by Microsoft. Luckily there are youtubers like NondaIE who will splurge on the cash and capture oddities like this for us.

Even the start screen leaves a lot to be desired, because here Super Mario or Marioner simply becomes Super Omarioth, including the attached O and H in a different font. Only the T somehow has the original font. Unfortunately, the gameplay isn’t much better either, but see for yourself:

Gameplay out of the bin: Supertan Marioner 3D Infinity World Adventures is an endless runner. Mario, whose model was stolen or replicated from an official spin-off, automatically runs from left to right and you only have to jump to avoid falling into a chasm or being crushed against a wall.

Animal Crossing was also available on Xbox

Such fake games are only there to get a few euros out of the pocket of the ignorant. The question, however, is how Microsoft could have leaked such an abomination, even if it does happen every now and then.

This can also be seen in another example. At the height of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ popularity, the game suddenly appeared on the Microsoft store. However, behind it was the game Crossy Animal Roads, which in turn is a rip-off of Crossy Roads.

Do you already have experience with such rip-offs?
