Oh god, we can sell drugs to orphans in Skyrim

The skeletons in Skyrim belong to the ancestors of the Nords.

Seriously, Skyrim? WTF!

In Skyrim you can do all sorts of practical jokes and of course play abysmally evil characters who wipe out entire cities. But selling drugs to an orphan is a whole new level of underhandedness. We’re not talking about some harmless medicinal herbs, we’re talking about the hard stuff: you can just sell a poor little girl Redwater Skooma, for example.

Skyrim: We can sell drugs to orphans, but I guess it’s not intentional

That’s what it’s about: A Skyrim fan discovered that there is a possibility to sell hard drugs to the child NPC Sofie in Windhelm. So if you’ve always wanted to be really, really nasty, you can do it this way. In any case, for us, this evilness still ranks well above vampirism and the thieves’ guild.

Actually, the orphan girl Sofie just sells flowers to keep her head above water. But apparently she’s not completely averse to starting a small side business out of the ground either. After all, the narcotic Skooma or the hallucinogenic Sleeping Tree Sap should make a lot more money than flowers (at least that’s what we, uh, heard somewhere).

In the Elder Scrolls lore, skooma represents a substance that is classified as highly addictive and also very illegal. Redwater Skooma turns out to be even more dangerous. This variant is stronger and is also used by vampires, for example, to make their victims docile – almost the equivalent of KO drops in the Skyrim world.

More on Skyrim:

Why is that even possible? The possibility of selling Sofie the hard stuff may not have been intended as such. But apparently the child NPC is classified as an alchemy vendor who sells (as well as automatically buys) both potions and their ingredients, because flowers within Skyrim are officially alchemy ingredients. The fact that we can sell the orphan hard drugs is probably only due to the categorization.

Have you ever sold drugs to orphans in Skyrim? What was your worst atrocity?
