Sony has provided an update on the launch of the new PlayStation Plus service. So far it was only known that we can expect a period sometime at the end of June in this country, but now we finally have the specific date.
- When will the new PS Plus start? In Germany, the new PS Plus will be available from June 22, 2022.
PS Plus line-up may not be for a few weeks
The info comes from an update of the PlayStation Blogs, detailing the different launch periods for the new PS Plus. The start should not take place simultaneously worldwide, but staggered. Almost a month before we can enjoy the new subscription service, it will start in some Asian countries, namely from May 23, 2022. Japan will follow on June 1 and America on June 13, before that finally it’s Europe’s turn on June 22nd.
It is striking that the blog entry finally mentions a launch date, but there is still no information on the line-up of the game catalog that is supposed to be included in PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium. Although there are already rumors about some PS1 classics that could be included in the service at launch, there is still no official listing.
Of course, it’s quite possible that the library of over 740 games will only be shown when the subscription service starts. At least we don’t have to wait too long and can look at the line-up at the latest when it starts in the Asian countries before we decide on our own subscription.
If you are still undecided which subscription option might be the right one for you, we have listed the options and their contents here again:
