How does New Game+ work? Once you’ve completed Dying Light 2, you can launch New Game+ and it’s more than just a 2nd playthrough.

The developers have introduced some innovations to make the 2nd round feel different: opponents behave a little differently, everything is a little more difficult and there are new objects to find in the world. Join in:

  • 30 new inhibitor containers
  • Platinum difficulty in Parkour Challenges
  • New distribution of zombie enemies
  • Another loot level for Legendaries
  • Random Gold Encounters
  • Enemy difficulty scales with level

What are these events? In the future, Dying Light 2 will run a number of events that will give you gameplay or loot bonuses, as is otherwise known from larger MMOs:

  • April 28 – May 3: Double XP
    • There are more experience points for fights and parkour
  • May 5th – May 9th: Trove of Crystals
    • You get better crystals when collecting
  • May 12 – May 16: Blue Moon
    • More night time immunity and more chemical resistance
  • May 19 – May 23: Hyper Mode
    • Your actions will cause zombies to fly around like mad

This gives you active modifiers for almost the entire month of May, which affect your looting or gameplay and thus provide some variety.

What is this new quest? There is a new quest called “Mutated Infected”. In the course of the task you will encounter the fat “Goon” opponents in special element variants.

What else is there to know? Most of the patch notes consisted of bug fixes. A long list of fixed bugs and fixed problems. If you want to take a look at the English patch notes yourself, you can find them here (via dyinglightgame.com).

What’s next for Dying Light 2? The action game is to be further developed for more than 5 years.

In a recent interview, the developers even revealed that more vehicles may be coming into the game, real weapon repairs and faction improvements. We link the English interview below in the sources.

Much of that is still a while away and not certain either. But there is also a plan for 2022: Dying Light 2 will bring a lot of content after release – the roadmap and DLCs at a glance
