What are spotlight hours? An event of this type runs every Tuesday evening. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, a specific Pokémon is then the focus. You will meet it almost everywhere in the wilderness. Such an event is accompanied by a bonus that affects the experience points, stardust or candies received.

Wingull itself isn’t particularly strong and can safely be ignored for raids, arenas, and trainer battles. His further development Pelipper plays in the super league and in the hyper league in the upper midfield, but is not useful in raids. The candy bonus is also worthwhile if you play raids during the event period. Can you catch Shiny Wingull?

The second Spotlight Hour in May brings you encounters with Camaub. The Pokémon comes from the third generation of the game and belongs to the types Fire and Ground. It can evolve into Camerupt.

For sending Pokemon, you get double the amount of candy. This counts for all Pokemon you send. Who is it worth it for?

Neither Camaub nor Camerupt are particularly strong attackers. So use the event mainly because of the sending bonus to efficiently clean up your collection. Can you catch Shiny Camaub?

No, Shiny Camaub is not yet available in Pokémon GO.

Spotlight Hour on May 17th Which Pokemon?

May's third spotlight will feature the Pokémon Magikarp that you'll recognize from the first generation of the game. It is of the Water type and can evolve into Gyarados.

For evolving Pokémon, you get double the amount of experience points. Who is it worth it for?

Magikarp himself is to be ignored as an attacker. However, collecting the Pokémon is definitely worth it, because Gyarados is really useful as an attacker in raids. Gyarados can also collect a lot of points in PvP in the Hyper League and Master League. So the event is really worth it for you to fill your collection with strong attackers. Can you catch Shiny Magikarp?

Spotlight Hour on May 24th Which Pokemon?

The fourth Spotlight Hour in May brings you encounters with Jurob from the first generation of the game. It is of the Water type and can evolve into Jugong.

You get double Stardust for catching Pokémon. This counts for all Pokémon you catch during the event period. Who is it worth it for?

Jurob is not a particularly strong attacker. His further development, Jugong, plays high in the Superliga in trainer battles and can score a few points there. Otherwise it’s rather uninteresting. Still, the stardust bonus at the event is worth it. Can you catch Shiny Jurob?

Yes, Shiny Jurob are already unlocked in Pokémon GO.

Spotlight Hour on May 31st Which Pokemon?

The fifth Spotlight Hour in May 2022 at Pokémon GO brings you the Pokémon Peppeck. It is from the 7th generation of the game and belongs to the types Normal and Flying. It can evolve into Trompeck and Tukanon.

You get twice the amount of experience points for catching Pokémon. Who is it worth it for?

Peppeck and his developments are not particularly interesting. They don’t play a notable role in either raids or trainer battles. Can you catch Shiny Peppeck?

No, the shiny version of the Pokémon has not yet been released in Pokémon GO.
