Pokémon GO: Dataminers find the Lapras you’ve been waiting for over a year

In early 2021, Pokémon GO dataminers found a picture of Lapras wearing a bow tie. Now this event Pokémon has gotten stats and there are many indications that it could appear soon.

What is this Pokemon? The image found in 2021 is called Lapras Costume 2020 and is also called “Drip Lapras” by the community. In this special event version, Lapras wears a blue bow tie. This skin is based on a plushie collection that Nintendo released in 2018.

For a long time there was only this picture in the files. Icons, stats and other information were missing. Now, however, the PokéMiners have found new details about Drip Lapras:

• An optical update to the Lapras skin was already noticed on April 14th
• Today, May 7th, the PokéMiners found the stats and skills

The costume also briefly showed the option to be transferred to Pokémon HOME. That was deactivated less than an hour after the data mining.

When does the costume come into play? There is no official statement on this yet. Drip Lapras has been in the game’s files for at least a year, and there’s a chance it’ll be there a little longer.

However, from May 12th to 20th, the Water Festival will take place. There is no detailed information about this event yet. Many are now hoping that the Lapras with the bow tie will appear at this event.

A real gentleman’s skin that many are waiting for

Why are so many looking forward to the Lapras? Drip Lapras is eagerly awaited by many because the fly makes the Pokémon a real gentleman.

They even have their own Twitter account called Where is Drip Lapras (via Twitter). This account previously tweeted that the Drip Lapras news made his day.
