Mario Strikers: Battle League Football – Trailer gives an overview of the switch exclusive

I’m a huge fan of the Mario soccer games and have been waiting for a new installment for years. I was accordingly euphoric when Nintendo announced Mario Strikers: Battle League Football earlier this year. Because that brings the proven concept of the two predecessors to the switch.

Nintendo has now released the English-language version of the game’s overview trailer, allowing for a detailed look at the game. And after watching the trailer multiple times, I’m more excited than ever for the game.

On the one hand, I’m extremely curious to see how much the items that you can equip the kickers with will affect the actual feel of the game. And on the other hand, how long it takes me to get used to the somewhat unusual – but quite appropriate – comic graphic style.

Tobias Veltin

Tobi thinks that there are far too few fun football games these days. Because they are always good for a relaxed round and provide a nice contrast to the realism strongholds FIFA and PES or now eFootball. His absolute favorite in this area: Sega Soccer Slam.

Ten characters to start with doesn’t go over well with everyone

In any case, I’m hoping for a similarly relaxed, easy and fun playing experience as in the predecessors, even then hard tackles and the unstoppable super shots – which of course have to be well timed – provided a lot of fun and numerous revenge games. There will be a total of ten playable characters at launch, but this number was not particularly well received by everyone:

I don’t think the selection is particularly large either, but at least Toad is one of my absolute Nintendo favorites. The trailer focuses on the online and club features, hopefully there will also be some information about the offline modes beforehand, because it would be a shame if tournaments were missing, for example. Mario Strikers: Battle League Football will be released on June 10th, 2022 and will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

How do you like the overview trailer?
