The results of the individual round of 16 in the overview

Round of 16 1

  2. M. Bison (Street Fighter) – 13%, 370 votes

An unequal duel: The Toad King hammered the Street Fighter heroes into the dust with a lead of more than 2000 (!) Votes so much that we almost felt sorry for him. So while M. Bison has to start his journey home licking his wound, Bowser is one of the big favorites going into the quarterfinals.

round of 16 2

  1. Handsome Jack (Borderlands) – 52%, 1352 votes
  2. Glados (Portal) – 48%, 1224 votes

The decision in the second round of 16 was much tighter, in which Glados and Handsome Jack went back and forth evenly for a long time. But although Glados repeatedly promised her opponent a cake on the home stretch if he let her pass, the Borderlands meander narrowly won in the end.

Round of 16 3

  1. Lady Dimitrescu (Resident Evil 8) – 55%, 1461 votes
  2. The Boss (Metal Gear Solid) – 45%, 1211 votes

The two last remaining women met in the third round of 16 and delivered an exciting exchange of blows, in which it was not clear at the beginning how this would end. In the end, however, the Resident Evil Lady used her vampire abilities to decisively pull The Boss away and now meets Bowser.

Round of 16 4th

  1. Pyramid Head (Silent Hill) – 59%, 1530 votes
  2. Andrew Ryan (Bioshock) – 41%, 1055 votes

Even if the result of this duel looks pretty close, the meander with the distinctive skull didn’t give his Bioshock opponent from Rapture a chance. While Ryan kept trying to get close to his opponent, the Pyramid Head ultimately took first place from the start to the end of the voting period.

round of 16 5

  1. Joker (Batman: Arkham) – 79%, 2136 votes
  2. David (The Last of Us) – 21%, 567 votes

The Joker had already achieved a very good result in the preliminary round and confirmed this directly in the round of 16, in which he didn’t give the creep David from The Last of Us the slightest chance. The grinning face has thus impressively underpinned its ambitions as one of the favorites in the villain world championship.

Round of 16 6

  1. Ganondorf (Zelda) – 55%, 1479 votes
  2. Vaas Montenegro (Far Cry) – 45%, 1220 votes

In the group phase, Ganondorf was able to prevail without any problems, but the sorcerer had significantly more difficulties with Vaas Montenegro and, among other things, had to be rudely insulted by his opponent throughout the duel. In the end, however, Ganondorf collected over 250 more votes and sent Vaas back to his island.

Vaas was left behind against Ganondorf and now has to pack his bags.

round of 16 7

  1. Baldur (God of War) – 54%, 1430 votes
  2. Team Rocket (Pokémon) – 46%, 1241 votes

You could expect a lot from Baldur, after all he not only messed with Kratos, but also took first place in the preliminary round in “Group of Death” 7. And in the round of 16 against the well-disposed Team Rocket, Baldur was able to narrowly but confidently assert himself. He now has to prove he has good nerves in the quarter-finals against co-favorite Joker.

Round of 16 8

  1. The Wild Hunt (Witcher) – 59%, 1590 votes
  2. Micah Bell (Red Dead Redemption) – 41%, 1088 votes

Micah Bell, one of the antagonists from Red Dead Redemption 2, is a really nasty guy who didn’t get a place in our World Championship for nothing and who also had many advocates in the comments. But Micah ultimately had no chance against the undead riders of the Wild Hunt and had to give up after the round of 16, while the Wild Hunt now had to deal with Warlock Ganondorf.
