Destiny 2: Bungie is giving PvP a new twist in Season 17

In Season 17, Bungie finally wants to tinker with Destiny 2’s PvP content. New modes are coming and Iron Banner is also getting a refresh that should make the PvP experience more accessible.

More variety for Destiny 2’s PvP

With the changes the team put up in a post Bungie.net introduces, the competitive modes should be dusted again. This is also badly needed, because PvP suffers from cheaters, matchmaking that needs improvement, a missing ranking list and the same content over and over again.

Hardly any new content has appeared for the game’s PvP in years. The developers, who want to provide more variety with an Iron Banner event and new modes, have now also noticed this.

An Iron Banner event, which is expected to take place on May 31st and June 12th, will bring the new mode “Rift” into play – but only for a limited time during the event. Only in Season 18 should the mode become part of the Crucible rotation.

For more variety, the modes for the Iron Banner should change more frequently. “Basically, we plan to change the Iron Banner mode season by season. Sometimes it will be a brand new mode or a returning mode; sometimes it will be an existing mode with new challenges,” the post reads.

Other Destiny 2 news:

Power level only in Trials of Osiris

In order to make the Iron Banner more attractive to more players, Bungie decided to disable the power level in the weekly event. In the Trials of Osiris, however, the power level still applies.

Additionally, you can earn a new Seal of Triumph, but you’ll have to wait for new rewards. Bungie hasn’t announced anything new here yet. After all, it will be possible to earn old armor and cosmetics from Lord Saladin.

You can also look forward to a new map that is scheduled to appear in the 17th season. Bungie also does a little recycling and plans to dig up the “Zone Control” mode again.
