Be honest: Do you actually use level boosters?

Level boosts are often viewed negatively in the gaming community, but are now an integral part of many MMORPGs. Do you use this mostly paid “level option”? Tell us.

These are level boosters: The constant growth of one’s own character is actually an integral part of MMORPGs. Whether it’s in the form of linear stages, mastering skill trees, or various hybrid forms of the two, leveling is part of the game.

Nevertheless, many MMORPGs offer their players the option to skip exactly this process. The level boosters allow players to either skip the leveling phase entirely or greatly increase the EXP gained.

This option is paid for in most cases and there is hardly an MMORPG that does not sell level boosts. Even MMORPGs like WoW or FFXIV, which actually require a subscription to play, offer their players this option to quickly level up their characters.

• The advantages of such level boosters include, for example, the ability to skip the often boring leveling process and go straight to the action-packed endgame. This is especially useful for alts, who otherwise would have to hunt through the same quests and areas over and over again.
• The disadvantage is that the developers then put little effort into making this boring level process more interesting. Or even make it long and tedious on purpose so that players invest money in level boosts.

Accordingly, gamers have very mixed opinions about the concept of level boosts. Some find that they have no business being in an MMORPG and are Pay2Win. Others don’t care, others find the level boosters very practical and like to use them.
