Cyberpunk 2077: More on the anime series at Netflix Geeked Week

from Oliver Jaeger
On June 8th, the Cyberpunk 2077 anime series Edgerunners will be presented, which was created in collaboration between CD Projekt Red and Trigger. The date falls in the period of Geeked Week, which runs from June 6th to 10th and for which a trailer was recently released.

Even before Cyberpunk 2077 released in late 2020 with its notoriously bumpy start, the same year saw the announcement of the Netflix-exclusive anime series Edgerunners, created by CD Projekt Red in collaboration with Japanese animation studio Trigger. On June 8th there should be more to see about the series, like the official website for Cyberpunk Edgerunners and a Twitter account tweet about the series can be seen.

Presentation as part of Geeked Week with other projects

Netflix Geeked Week is also running June 6-10, so Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be unveiled at the event. The series will be ten episodes and will tell the story of a street kid in Night City. This must master survival in a city full of technologies and body modifications. For existential reasons, the child should then make the decision to become an edge runner, a lawless mercenary also known as cyberpunk.

Geeked Week, meanwhile, promises to deliver “cast revelations, talent appearances, trailer premieres, sneak peeks and surprise announcements” alongside content on more than 60 Netflix projects. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will not be the only series during Geeked Week that has a video game connection. Because the live-action series “Resident Evil” and the second season of “The Cuphead Show” should also be in the spotlight.

Netflix would also like to present its own video games, which the company had hesitantly dared to do. The one for Geeked Week released trailers also teases more about The Sandman, new seasons of Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things, Sweet Tooth, Alice in Borderland, Locke & Key, Shadow and Bone, The Gray Man, The Sea Beast, Spiderhead, First Kill, The School for Good and Evil, The Dragon Prince, Wendell and Wild, Manifest and Day Shift.
