Dead by Daylight Gets Bizarre Spinoff on Steam – Let Your Favorite Killers Date You
Dead by Daylight is a nasty horror MMO that plays with our deepest and most ancient fears. In addition, an interesting community has gathered around the title, which can definitely be described as “lascivious”. The developers are picking this up and bringing a salacious spin-off this summer.
How… and what? Yup, I had to check my calendar first, but April 1st is long gone. It’s true: Dead by Daylight, known for brutal horror action, is getting a spin-off on Steam this summer. And it is a dating simulator.
We at MeinMMO were able to talk to the developers before the official unveiling and will show you in detail what this bizarre spin-off is all about.

What’s happening? Those responsible at Studio Behavior Interactive want to expand the universe around Dead by Daylight. A spin-off will be released on Steam this summer.
In “Hooked on You” you get the odd chance to date your favorite characters from the game. At the start, 4 of the killers are ready to flirt with:
- The hunter
- The trapper
- The ghost
- The ghost
Like dozens of dome series before it, Dead by Daylight recognizes the romantic potential of a tropical island with picturesque beaches and brings you together with dangerous psychopaths on the beautiful “Killer Island”.
Hooked on You is a collaboration with the developers of Psyop. If you want to see what such a game looks like, take a look at the dating sim with Colonel Sanders from Kentucky Fried Chicken (via YouTube).
You can flirt with the killers, develop a relationship and get closer. Mathieu Côté, Head of Partnerships at Dead by Daylight, explained this in a little more detail:
They’re the same killers you know from Dead by Daylight, but in a slightly different version. They’re a bit more playful, of course, but still just as insane and dangerous as in the main game. The Entity organizes the whole thing and also has a reason for creating this place.
Côté clarifies that the story is not official lore for the game. However, in addition to the teasing with the killers, there is also a story to be discovered that should pull into the game – horror, humor and romance should offer Hooked on You.

How can this happen? 2021 was a big year for Dead by Daylight. Senior Producer Stefan Beauchamp-Daniel explains that DbD has reached 50 million players and around 2 million log in daily. It’s time to expand the universe.
The feedback from the community is particularly important. Mathieu Côté said: “At the top of the list was a dating simulator. That surprised us. But it also shows the lustful nature of our fans […] that’s what we decided to do (laughs)”.
The Day by Daylight community is a little “special” in that regard. The relationship to the killers and survivors can sometimes be described as “strange” in a romantic sense.
There is a lot of fan fiction on social media in which the characters live together peacefully and even romances are depicted. If you scroll a little on reddit, you will quickly find examples of the somewhat unusual relationship some fans have with the protagonists of Dead by Daylight:
What else is there to know? Hooked on You launches on Steam this summer with 4 killers in its portfolio. There is no more precise date yet. Mathieu Côté emphasizes that whether more killers or survivors are added depends on the success of the game.
In addition, a test phase for Dead by Daylight: Mobile, which has already successfully started in Japan, will start soon.
For the main game, a crossover with the anime “Attack on Titan” was announced and a big event with Resident Evil – Project W.
Also, the newest chapter will start soon on the test server: Roots of Horror. This brings the new killer “Dredge”, a survivor and a new map. The figures were leaked correctly in advance.
