GTA 6: Release far away – fans fear fatal waiting time

The nightmare of many fans seems to come true. Apparently they will have to wait a few more years for the release of GTA 6 – possibly until 2025.

New York – Fans have been eagerly awaiting GTA 6 for years. It has even been officially confirmed for a few months that Rockstar Games is working on the next title in the franchise. The developer from New York presented this on Twitter. But when is the release of GTA 6 and will fans soon see a trailer? After Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two’s investor conference, fans now fear that they will have to wait a very long time for GTA 6.

GTA 6: Release nightmare seems to be confirmed – fans fear a long wait

When should GTA 6 be released? Although it is already known that developer Rockstar Games, based in New York, is busy working on GTA 6, when the game should appear remains a secret. Fans recently pinned their hopes on Take-Two’s investor conference. The parent company of Rockstar Games presented its annual sales report to its investors on May 16th and always shows the plans for the next few years.

But GTA 6 is a taboo subject at Take-Two. No word has been revealed about the next title that could become the game of the century. There was a leak in the run-up to a presentation slide showing the release of GTA 6 in the 2024 sales year. The leak looked deceptively real, but ultimately turned out to be a fake.

Why do fans fear a long wait? After the Take-Two investor conference, many fans are now fearing the worst for the release of GTA 6. Posts are piling up on Twitter expecting a GTA 6 release in 2025 or even later:

The reason for this is the Take-Two release schedule. At the investor conference, the New York company showed plans for upcoming titles in the next few years. In the sales year 2023 to 2025, for example, The Quarry from 2K, Marvel’s Midnight Suns from 2K and of course NBA 2k23 and other games are to be released.

But there is no trace of GTA 6 on the list. So could that mean GTA 6 won’t be out before 2025? Or is the release of GTA 6 even later? At least these are the questions that fans are currently asking themselves.

GTA 6: Release far away – Take-Two is silent as a grave

GTA 6 release only in 2025? In advance, insiders and leakers did not agree on when the release of GTA 6 could take place. Most recently everything seemed to point to a release in 2023 or 2024. But is the Take-Two slide a sign that the release of GTA 6 is even later?

Not necessarily. Because in previous investor calls, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick emphasized that only Rockstar Games would comment on GTA 6. In previous conferences, Zelnick was asked several times about GTA 6 and always pointed out that only the developer studio itself would disclose information about it. So it’s quite possible that the release of GTA 6 is not as far away as it seems. An announcement from Rockstar Games could possibly come directly in the next few months, which will finally tell fans when GTA 6 will be released.
