Kerbal Space Program 2 postponed again! Not released until 2023

The release of Kerbal Space Program 2 has been pushed back once more.

The sequel was originally slated for release as early as 2020 before being pushed back to 2021, 2022 and now 2023.

Coming to PC first

According to publisher Private Division and its parent company Take-Two, the PC version of Kerbal Space Program 2 will be released by March 31, 2023.

The release for consoles is even longer. The implementation can therefore be expected within twelve months of the PC release.

The reason for the delay

“We are developing a game of immense technical complexity,” explains creative director Nate Simpson. “And we’ve assembled a team of passionate, talented people to achieve that goal. But we’ve also set a very high bar for quality.”

“The game has to work on a variety of machines. The graphics have to be unparalleled. The universe has to be rich and interesting to explore. We set ourselves the goal internally to create an experience that is both new and breathtaking.”

“As I mentioned earlier, we have reinforced our team with the developers of the original Kerbal Space Program,” he adds. “Together we are creating something that we are all very, very proud of. I can’t express how much it means to us as a team to have the support of a community that recognizes the importance of creating something of quality , even if it means we take a little more time.”
