LoL brings huge balance changes with the next update - nerft over 30 items

League of Legends has released the new patch 12.10 on the test servers. This update will make some drastic changes to the game, most notably reducing healing and shields. More than 30 items will be revised for this purpose.

What is the goal of the update? For a number of years, LoL has complained that the fights are over far too quickly. The damage is way too high and at the same time the healing and shields have been massively boosted to counteract the high damage.

The former LoL pro Doublelift already criticized this “ping-pong” meta in October 2021. Since then, the situation has gotten even worse from the point of view of many players.

  • The new 12.10 patch aims to increase champions’ natural resistance while mitigating shields, healing, and damage.
  • Additionally, Gushing Wound no longer reduces healing as much as before.
  • Overall, the fights should be slower.

However, Riot doesn’t want to establish a meta where tanks live forever and no kills happen in the first 15 minutes. This balancing act is likely to be difficult, although the changes mentioned are initially received positively by the community.

Is that all the changes? no Along with the reduced healing for the items, there is also a nerf for the champions. Almost every champion has to sacrifice lifesteal and shields. Some also lose damage.

At the same time, the healing from the Ocean Dragon and the shield from the Mountain Dragon are reduced. The runes are also being worked on.

What do you think of the planned adjustments? Are the healing and damage adjustments enough to address the issue, and are you concerned that Riot is over-reducing healing and under-damaging? Feel free to write it in the comments.

Recently, Riot had to adjust a champion because a Twitch streamer used a crazy suicide tactic:
