Sony has in one blog post introduced the first games for the upcoming PS Plus Premium subscription. This also includes many classics from the PS1 and PS2, but also titles that we know from the PSP and PS3. Some games even benefit from technical improvements.

Who can access the classic catalogue? Anyone with a PS Plus Premium subscription can play the classics from the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP.

Important NOTE: The following titles are a first excerpt available at the launch of the new PS Plus subscriptions. The list is therefore not final. Games will also be added and removed in the future, although this is unlikely to be the case for the classics with a view to PS Now.

Classic catalogue: PS1, PS2 and PSP

The classic catalog includes PS1, PS2 and PSP games, some of which are available as remasters. Some of these games have also been revised and can include the following improvements Offer:

  • improved frame rate
  • higher resolution
  • rewind function
  • free save function
  • New user interface with menus (only selected PS1 and PSP classics)

Already own the digital version of a PS1 or PSP classic? Then you don’t have to make any extra purchases or sign up for PS Plus to play them with the improvements. Instead, you can download selected classics for free from the PS Store.

Original PS3 games

Infamous is among the more well-known PS3 games to make it into the catalogue.

With PS Plus Premium we can also access some PS3 classics. The downside here: we can’t download them, we can they have to stream, which requires an internet speed of at least 5 Mbit/s (15 Mbit/s for 1080p). Also, all titles are the original version, so they have not been remastered.
