The Last of Us Series: These new set pictures bring back bad memories for me

Once again there are new pictures from the set of The Last of Us series – and in very good quality. A long street can be seen, at the end of which a villa towers over the scenery. The houses are dilapidated and the streets are littered with broken and rusted cars, rubbish and rubble. The post-apocalyptic mood is definitely captured well (via Instagram).

Actually, the images for the setting in the post-apocalypse are nothing special, but if you’ve played The Last of Us you might have bad memories – at least that’s how it is for me. A street in a suburb that ends in a cul-de-sac; plus a large building at the end – does something ring? That’s right, this must be the Pittsburgh sniper scene, where Joel has to hide behind cars, smash through single-family homes, and ultimately get behind a sniper’s fur.

The set tells us: Do you see the open window of the city mansion? This is where the sniper is probably lurking for Joel and Ellie. In order to get to the adversary, they will probably have to fight their way through the houses where one or the other infected person is likely to be waiting. It is interesting that some of the houses are only facades. At least the villa should have been developed inside, because this is probably where the highlight of the scene takes place.

How much is the Last of Us series based on the video game template?
The images prove once again that there will be scenes in the TV production that are close to the original. A picture of the truck scene and a short clip in which Ellie Joel opens a door have already shown this. And why not – The Last of Us is very cinematically staged and offers one of the best stories in video game history. In addition, those responsible still have the opportunity to surprise us with one or the other twist.

New scenes are the salt in the soup: But that doesn’t mean that the series only copies parts of the game. For example, we can already assume that Joel, Ellie and Co. will end up in Kansas City instead of Pittsburgh, which was never a location in the original. Basically, the script with small changes has to keep fans of the game happy.
