With Update 20.40 for Fortnite, a new POI (Point of Interest) has come into play. Streamer Ninja discovered a strong exploit directly on the “Collider”.

Detroit, Michigan – Fortnite is slowly coming to the end of its Season 2 and Epic Games is preparing the game’s map for the grand finale. Since update 20.40, a new point of interest (POI) called “The Collider” can be found on the map, which is supposed to house a doomsday device for the event at the end of the season. However, Fortnite icon and streamer Ninja has already discovered an exploit at this new POI with which he was able to gain a decisive advantage during his live stream.

Fortnite: Ninja plays new update, promptly discovers exploit at The Collider

What happened? On May 17th, Ninja and fellow streamer SypherPK let off steam in Fortnite’s new 20.40 update. Especially the “Collider”, the new POI on the map, was an exciting topic for the two of them. In the midst of a battle at the landmark, Ninja finally spotted two other players seemingly just sliding into the collider as if they could just walk through walls. As it turns out, there are points on the POI’s level geometry where you can just walk into the object. The two streamers took advantage of this.

How does the exploit work? The collider’s large outer struts do not appear to be fully solid. So, with a slide, or just enough stubbornness, you can get inside these structures. Inside you are practically invulnerable to enemy fire. So if you need a little healing, you can feed yourself there undeterred and prepare for further fights.

However, damage from storms is apparently still taken and players can use shockwave grenades to throw each other out of the buildings. With such a gross blunder on the part of Epic Games, it is probably only a matter of time before this error is fixed with another hotfix.

What else is new in Fortnite? With update 20.40, Epic Games has released what is probably the last patch for Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 2. A lot of new content has come into play – from weapons to the doomsday device at the collider POI to numerous new cosmetics for the item shop. Dataminers have already leaked all new cosmetics for Fortnite in update 20.40. Among them are some items that refer to the live event at the end of the season.
