The new game comes from the previously unknown developers of the Italian Smallthing Studios and is called Simon the Sorcerer Origins.

As the title suggests, the game is a prequel to the first installment in the 1993 series, Simon the Sorcerer According to the developers, Origins should be a completely independent game that wants to remain true to the original with the original license: A fantasy setting paired with a colorful comic look, crisp puzzles and the usual black humor should pick up fans of the series, while newcomers can can look forward to modern ideas.

Incidentally, Simon the Sorcerer Origins is scheduled for release next year for PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and XboX Series X/S. March 28, 2023 is currently listed as a specific date on the official Steam website. So we have to be patient for almost a year before we can slip back into the role of the young magician Simon. However, we are already looking forward to it – and hope that this new edition will make us forget the memories of the horrific Simon the Sorcerer 3D.
