What could a gaming PC for 3,300 euros currently look like? The PCGH editors have created a configuration with the Geforce RTX 3080 and the Ryzen 9 5900X, which can be seen as inspiration for building projects or can also be bought as a complete PC from Alternate.

The prices for graphics cards are still very high, but in these times of crisis it is unlikely that the situation will ease. On the other hand, one can assume that Nvidia will present a new generation of graphics cards at the end of the year and that the Geforce RTX 3080 will then have a successor that will probably be even more expensive. So what to do if you want a new gaming PC now? Unfortunately, we cannot make this decision for you.

Gaming PC for 3,300 euros: The components in detail

The highlight in the PCGH high-end PC is of course the Geforce RTX 3080. The Palit RTX 3080 GamingPro with 12 GB is currently used. The card is also available with 10 GB, but if you want to be well prepared for the future, you’d better use the 12 GB version. The 12 GB variant used here achieves 91 percent in the PCGH performance index (10 GB version: 88 percent). The leader is still the very expensive Geforce RTX 3090 with 100 percent. For the processor, we chose the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X for the AM4 socket. In the PCGH processor performance index 2022, the 12-core CPU achieves an impressive 90.2 percent. At 90.5 percent, the Core i7-12700K is only slightly faster. But if you differentiate between gaming and application benchmarks, the AMD processor leads in applications (84 to 80%) and the Intel processor in games (94 to 91%). The CPU is installed on the MSI MPG X570 Gaming EDGE WIFI and cooling is provided by a quiet Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH Edition with two fans. We chose a Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD with 1 TB and a 4 TB HDD from Seagate as storage drives. To ensure that all components are supplied with sufficient power, a be quiet! Straight power 11 CM with 850 watts. Incidentally, we measured a whopping 495 watts in the 3D Mark Firestrike Ultra benchmark. On the other hand, it is only 51 watts without load. The Fractal Design housing Define 7 PCGH Edition provides a simple and elegant look. This PCGH PC is built and sold by Alternate.
