Death Stranding 2: Allegedly confirmed by Norman Reedus

Actor Norman Reedus has apparently confirmed Death Stranding 2 from developer Kojima Productions.

In a new interview with Leo Reedus, who plays main character Sam Porter Bridges, spoke about Death Stranding, saying, “We just started the second one.”

What Kojima says about it

On Saturday, Hideo Kojima commented on the subject with a rather cryptic tweet. The tweet includes several images featuring Kojima and Reedus.

He writes: “Go to your private room, my friend.” A nod to the private space players can send Sam to in Death Stranding.

How he got his role

Reedus also talked about how he got his role in Death Stranding.

“Guillermo Del Toro, who gave me my first film role, called me and said, ‘Hey, there’s a guy called Hideo Kojima, he’s going to call you, just say yes’. And I’m like, ‘What do you mean ‘ Just say yes’?’ He’s like, ‘Stop being an asshole, just say yes’. Then I was in San Diego and Hideo came up to me with a big group of people. He’s from Tokyo and he showed me what he was doing at a game called Silent Hill.”

“I was blown away by what he was showing me and I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s do this.’ It’s not Ms. Pacman; it’s so realistic, it’s so futuristic, it’s so intricate and beautiful, and I was blown away.”

“It took me maybe two or three years to do all the MoCap sessions and everything else [für Death Stranding] to finish. That’s a lot of work. And then the game came out and won all these awards. It was a huge thing, so we’ve just started the second part.”

Death Stranding was first released for the PlayStation 4 in 2019. This was followed by a PC version and a Director’s Cut, which was released for the PS5, among others.
