You should consider this when buying a gaming monitor

The size: Basically, you should be aware of the size of your future monitor. If you sit directly in front of the screen, a smaller monitor is more suitable. If you want a bigger monitor, it’s better to sit a little further away.

Resolution and refresh rate: The higher the resolution, the more details can be seen. From a size of 27 inches, a WQHD resolution is recommended, otherwise you can see individual pixels quite clearly.

Note, however, that the load on the graphics card increases the higher the monitor resolution. For 4K/UHD resolution you need at least a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or faster.

FreeSync and G Sync: G-Sync ensures that there is no input lag and no tearing when the graphics card delivers less FPS than the monitor. Tearing means that the picture “tears up” and you have strange artefacts in the picture. Because G-Sync then synchronizes the refresh rate of the monitor with the FPS of the graphics card. If the GPU delivers more FPS than the monitor, then you need V-Sync, which you can then activate in the game.

AMD graphics cards in particular use FreeSync, but Nvidia graphics cards now also support the technology. G-Sync is Nvidia’s synchronization technology.

Reaction time: Response time describes how long it takes for a pixel to change from one color to the next. Response times that are too slow can then lead to unsightly representations: moving objects leave a visible trail behind them, the problem is known as “motion blur”.

Here you should pay attention to the GtG value (grey to grey). Monitors that have a GtG value of less than 10 ms are recommended.

Brightness and colors: Colors describe how good the image will look in the end. The more natural the colors look, the better. Brightness is particularly important if you want to gamble in a dark room.

Who Should Choose Curved? Curved in a monitor means that the monitor is curved. This should cover the user’s view better and, above all, should enable better immersion in the game.

But it also depends on which games you prefer to play. Games that rely on full immersion (immersion) such as shooters or racing games can benefit from this. Strategy games or hack ‘n slash RPGs like Diablo, where you watch the action from above, benefit less.
