According to the Ukrainian studio, Stalker 2 development has now started again
It’s good news in a difficult time: According to its own information, the Ukrainian developer GSC Game World, based in Kiev, has resumed its work. The development of Stalker 2 was previously initially suspended due to the Russian war of aggression and the game’s release was postponed indefinitely. A release was originally planned for December 2022.
Development continued under a new name
The report about the resumption of development comes from the Polish side GRY online, according to which a member of GSC’s community management had confirmed via Discord that work on the end-time shooter was “continuing”. The official Discord channel got loud IGN reopened in the past few days.
Previously, GSC via YouTube announced how the life of developers has changed since the outbreak of war – according to rumors some developers are now in Prague – and that work on the game will be continued after Ukraine defeats Russia.
Hearts of Chornobyl: In the past few weeks, the name of Stalker 2 has also been adapted to the Ukrainian spelling. “Chernobyl” was the Russian spelling.
