Doctor Strange 2 release date announced on Disney+

Doctor Strange 2: Was a fight scene brazenly stolen from an indie game? (1)

The new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie is still in theaters around the world, but soon all Disney+ customers will be able to watch the movie in the comfort of their own homes. At the moment there is even a release date making the rounds, which was probably accidentally shared by Disney’s German Instagram account. Supposedly subscribers can watch the new film already watch on June 22, 2022 at no extra charge.

When is Doctor Strange 2 coming to Disney+?

The message mentioned was deleted a short time later. The information may have been released too early, or it may simply not be correct. In the past, Disney itself imposed a 45-day window during which new films could only be seen in cinemas. With June 22, 2022, the company would actually meet this time window, but Disney does not always stick to its own specifications. For example, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was only released on Disney+ 70 days after its theatrical release, and Eternals was also a full 68 days.

So it’s not unlikely that Doctor Strange 2 will only be available to users on the Disney+ streaming service after about 70 days. Of course, the company wants to generate maximum profit with their new blockbuster. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently #1 on the box office in some countries around the world and has already grossed over $800 million. It cannot be ruled out that Disney will offer the film exclusively in cinemas at least until July.
