Forspoken: Final Fantasy XVI could cause another delay

Forspoken: Final Fantasy XVI could cause another delay

Earlier this year, Square Enix’s Forspoken was only pushed back to October 2022, but will it stay that way?

The project could possibly face another postponement, speculates journalist and insider Nick Baker in a new podcast.

Too many games, not enough space

The reason could possibly be another big game from publisher Square Enix: Final Fantasy XVI.

Recently it was said that Final Fantasy XVI is nearing completion and that a new trailer can be expected soon.

More news about Forspoken:

Baker says Square Enix may be considering another postponement of Forspoken should Final Fantasy XVI be ready later this year.

Which sounds plausible, because it would make it unnecessarily difficult for a new brand like Forspoken to launch it in time for a top dog like Final Fantasy XVI.

So far, however, nothing has been secured. Until then, Forspoken is planned for an October 11, 2022 release on PlayStation 5 and PC until further notice.

It remains to be seen whether the new trailer, which is to come soon for Final Fantasy XVI, will also name a release date or period. June is expected to be full of events and news again in the industry, and then we should probably hear more about the new Final Fantasy and Square Enix’s plans for the release.
