The magical adventure role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy has been postponed and has not yet been given a final release date, but thanks to new information about the title, many are now looking forward to it.

Sony stirs on his PlayStation Blog also his advertising drum and explains why the PS5 version in particular could make us feel like magicians and witches.

PS5 controller should bring a large portion of immersion

What’s so special about the PS5 version? According to Sony, the features of the PS5’s DualSense controller should help the version become more immersive. The aim is to create the feeling that we really are at Hogwarts ourselves.

How does that work? This is ensured, among other things, by the haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers. The latter should ensure that we feel every spell that we fire from our wand. Whether we’re firing a simple spell or charging up a more powerful spell, the DualSense controller will make us feel it.

The effects of the spells should be felt more on the right side of the DualSense controller so that it feels like an extension of the magic wand. For example, if we use the protection spell Protego, we feel resistance when an enemy spell hits our shield. Thus, the DualSense seems to become a ‘real’ magic wand itself if desired.

Sony presents the features of the PS5 version briefly and compactly in its own video:

DualSense responds to house choice

But not only the spells can be felt with the help of the haptic feedback of the PS5 controller, other events such as crushing ingredients in the potions compartment or flying through the air on our broomstick should literally become more tangible with the controller.

Especially cool: Depending on which house we choose, the DualSense controller will pulsate with different colors. So we’ll see the following colors when we’re not busy casting:

  • Gryffindor: Scarlet and Gold
  • Ravenclaw: blue and bronze
  • Hufflepuff: yellow and black
  • Slytherin: green and silver

Thanks to our GamePro poll, we know what colors most PS5 controllers are likely to be:
