PS Plus Premium: Streaming games will no longer support DLCs

Sony has confirmed that PS3 games or other titles that you play via streaming on the new Playstation Plus still do not support DLCs.

This is particularly annoying for PS3 games that are part of the new PlayStation Plus Premium tier.

A special problem

In theory, this also applies to games for the PlayStation 4, but these can also be downloaded and then support DLCs. PS3 games can currently only be streamed via PS Plus.

The problem has been known since the launch of PlayStation Now. While there was hope from fans that Sony would fix it for the PS Plus reboot, that’s not the case.

More on the subject:

There is additional downloadable content for various of the games included, which is therefore withheld from the players who stream it.

This applies, for example, to the additional episodes that are available for Capcom’s Asura’s Wrath. There are also several download packages for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and you also have to do without the story DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

The following PS3 games have been confirmed for PlayStation Plus Premium so far:

  • Asura’s Wrath
  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
  • crash commando
