Xbox: Handheld possibly in the works

Is Microsoft working on an Xbox handheld and thus a direct competitor to the Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck?

A handheld from Microsoft? That could be a reality if you trust the latest reports and let a little imagination slip between the lines.

The Verge’s Tom Warren tweeted that he simply got Xbox Game Pass working on his Steam deck and now he’s more convinced than ever that Microsoft should release a handheld console as well.

Jez Corden from WindowsCentral then spoke up and said that this wish could well come true.

To which Tom replied that if what he doesn’t believe in really does come true then he’s Jez to Edinburgh for a pint invite would.

The rumor mill says that Microsoft under the project name Edinburgh works on an Xbox handheld, which would make sense. While Nintendo might not allow Microsoft to integrate an Xbox Game Pass offer, Valve has launched its own lucrative device, the Steam Deck.

Would you buy an Xbox handheld as a counterpart to the Nintendo Switch or the Steam Deck?
