New LG Ultragear for gamers in 32 and 48 inches and OLED (3)

from Andrew Link
With the 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900, LG has introduced three new Ultragear models for gamers who use IPS and OLED panels.

LG has unveiled three new Ultragear monitors for gamers for 2022, measuring 32 and 48 inches. The model designations are 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900. The devices rely on IPS and OLED panels. The first thing that catches the eye is the new design language, which will appeal to players who found the models of the last few years too funky and rowdy. The well-known foot remains in the meantime. The one on the desk is a bit too bulky for some gamers – then only a monitor arm will help. But let’s get to the technical data:

The IPS devices

Of the LG Ultragear 32GQ950 uses a Nano IPS panel with UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and 144 Hertz, which can be overclocked to 160 Hertz. LG calls 1 ms response time gray to gray and 98 percent DCI-P3. The panel is certified with DisplayHDR 1000; it can VRR via G-Sync Compatible and Freesync Premium Pro. There are 3 HDMI 2.1, 1 display port, and 1 USB upstream and 2 USB downstreams in 3.0 as well as a 4-pin H/P out for headphones, also with DTS Headphone X. The height of the foot can be adjusted, the panel be tilted and rotated.

Of the LG Ultragear 32GQ850 uses a Nano IPS panel with QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) and 240 Hertz, which can be overclocked to 260 Hertz. LG calls 1 ms response time gray to gray and 98 percent DCI-P3. The panel is certified with DisplayHDR 600 and AdaptiveSync; it can VRR via G-Sync Compatible and Freesync Premium Pro. There are 3 HDMI 2.1, 1 display port, and 1 USB upstream and 2 USB downstreams in 3.0 as well as a 4-pin H/P out for headphones, also with DTS Headphone X. The height of the foot can be adjusted, the panel be tilted and rotated.

<h2 class=The OLED monitor

Of the LG Ultragear 48GQ900 uses an OLED panel with UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) and 120 Hertz, which can be overclocked to 138 Hertz. Since OLED panels are glossy, an “anti-glare low reflection” layer is used. LG calls 0.1 ms response time gray to gray and 98.5 percent DCI-P3. The panel is HDR10-capable and it can VRR via G-Sync Compatible and Freesync Premium. There are 3 HDMI 2.1, 1 Displayport, and 1 USB upstream and 2 USB downstream in 3.0 as well as a 4-pin H/P out for headphones also with DTS Headphone X. The foot can hold the monitor and there are two 20 -Watt speakers installed. There is also a remote condition.

The monitors are scheduled to launch in key markets worldwide later this month. LG has not yet named prices. But you can certainly orientate yourself on the predecessors. For the two IPS panels in particular, many gamers are likely to see the Eve Spectrum monitors, which are only 27 inches in size and are therefore likely to be sold at a slightly lower price than the new LG devices.
