Director Kantemir Balagav now gave an approximate start date for the HBO series.

So far without official confirmation

In a new one interview says Balagov, who directed the pilot episode, expecting that to happen in early 2023. However, he was not able to narrow it down any further, especially since production is still ongoing.

It was already clear that the series for The Last of Us will not start this year. HBO has not yet announced an official launch date.

According to recent reports, filming is nearing completion. There is therefore speculation about a start in the first three months of 2023.

The series stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie.

As Balagov goes on to point out, working on the series was important to him because the games “hold a special place in my heart,” as he puts it.
