WoW is changing what you’ve known for over 17 years – and that’s next week
World of Warcraft has released the patch notes for patch 9.2.5. And he shakes the principles: From the new update you can work with your old enemies from the other faction.
When is the patch coming? Update 9.2.5 will be released on June 1st, 2022 in World of Warcraft. It’s only a week away – and has some exciting changes in store.
These are the most important innovations: It was first announced in February, and now the time has actually come: Alliance and Horde players will soon be able to form joint groups to fight their way through dungeons, raids and PvP elements.
- For this to work, you must be Battle Tag or Real ID friends or a member of a cross-faction WoW community.
- In the dungeon browser, the group leader of organized groups can decide whether to allow mixed groups.
- Guilds and content with random player assignments, meanwhile, remain open to only one faction at a time.
However, some instances are excluded and may not be played across factions:
- Trial of the Champion
- Trial of the Crusader
- Archavon’s Chamber
- The Icecrown Citadel
- Baradin Fortress
- The Siege of Boralus
- The Battle of Dazar’alor
- Darkbreaker Citadel (Isle of the Exiled dungeon)
In the open world, you remain generally unfriendly at first, but you can communicate with each other in group chats.

What else is in the patch notes for WoW Update 9.2.5
What else does the patch bring? In addition to cross-faction gameplay, the update brings other features. An important change to the “Mausoleum of the First” can be found in the patch notes.
Cross-realm groups are now available on Mythic here. Alliance players in particular should be happy about this – because there weren’t enough players here to face the raid.

- First, two classes get new quest lines to unlock new rewards
- Blood Elf characters receive the Fugitive Emerald Hawk Strider after their quest line. Blood Elf Paladins get the themed ensemble: Devotion of the Blood Knight
- Dark Iron Dwarves get the Grimhowl mount and the themed arsenal: Lavaforge Weapons.
- There is also a new arena in PvP, the “Enigmatigel”.
