PS5 Pro and new Xbox Series X could come as soon as next year, according to the leak
The PS5 and Xbox Series X are barely a year and a half old and still hard to come by, but there are already rumors about the successor models. A hardware manufacturer has now spoken up and given new details about the alleged PS5 Pro and new Xbox Series X/S.
PS5 Pro leaked and could come as soon as next year
Like the Polish news site PPE reported, the Chinese hardware manufacturer TCL Technology recently held a press conference and also talked about its expectations for upcoming console generations. One of the pictures of the presentation shows a still unannounced Gen 9.5, which is said to contain a new Xbox Series X/S in addition to a PS5 Pro.
According to TLC, the half-gen consoles should appear as early as 2023 or 2024 and get a noticeable performance boost: They should be able to achieve between 60 and 120 FPS at a resolution of 4K and even render up to 8K. Both consoles should therefore with the a few weeks ago leaked RX 7700 XT graphics card running.

How likely is that? TCL does not make it clear whether this is pure speculation or concrete information. It is at least conceivable that the TV manufacturer already knows some data on the targeted performance of future successor models, after all, new televisions must also be able to display them in the best possible way.
In addition, the statements are consistent with earlier leaks, according to which a PS5 Pro could be almost twice as powerful as the previous model and appear by mid-2024 – that would be a similar period to that of the PS4 Pro:

A patent submitted by Sony for a new dual-processor architecture and a job advertisement from AMD for “next-generation” graphics chips also speak for a possible new console in the next few years.
On the other hand, of course, the PS5 and Xbox Series X are still in short supply and will probably remain so until 2024. After all, Sony CEO Jim Ryan has promised in a new investor meeting that the PS5 delivery problems are Sony’s “top priority”.
