The first trailer for ‘Andor’, the new Star Wars series, plunges us into a galactic espionage adventure

Star Wars now only knows how to count its nostalgia: the return of Darth Vader to 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' is the worst and the best news

‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ will premiere this May 27 on Disney Plus, but a new story about Star Wars is on the way to the streaming platform. We are talking about ‘Andor‘, a series starring Diego Luna, who reprises his role as Cassian Andor from ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘.

Disney has started its event Star Wars Celebration with the first trailer for ‘Andor,’ giving us a glimpse into the series that promises to explore a new perspective on the Star Wars galaxy where Cassian faces numerous challenges on his way to becoming a Rebel hero.

The series that will show us another perspective of Star Wars

At the moment there are not too many details, but everything seems to indicate that we will be facing a spy adventure in which there will be no lack of incentives such as dangers, betrayals and intrigue in each episode. And, speaking of episodes, we must say that it will have 12 in each season.

The first season will premiere on Disney Plus on August 31, and a second season has been confirmed, of course, we do not know when it will arrive. In any case, that’s good news for fans of the franchise conceived by George Lucas.

Remember that the series has been waiting. Since 2018 we knew that Cassian Andor would have her own series, described by Lucasfilm as a “spy thriller”, in which we would learn the origins of this rebellious spy played by Mexican actor Diego Luna.

Precisely, this new proposal will take us to about five years before the events that occurred in ‘Rogue One’. That is, as we can see in the official trailer, it will allow us to meet a closer look at the Rebellion.

It should be noted that Diego Luna will be joined by Genevieve O’Reilly, who will return as Mon Mothma, as well as Stellan Skarsgard, who will apparently play a key role as rebel leader, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. The showrunner for the series is Tony Gilroy.
