Returnal: PC port reference found in Steam database

Is the PS5 Exclusive Returnal Coming to PC Now? Notes on the sci-fi title from the Housemarque developers have now been found in the Steam database. As early as January there were indications of a PC implementation of the third-person shooter.

In a shareholder briefing, Sony recently announced that it intends to expand its PC business. For the year 2022, the Japanese company expects sales of 300 million US dollars for its PC division. Sony could plan to release more titles on the gaming platforms. Appropriately, references to the PS5 exclusive game Returnal recently appeared in the Steam database.

Steam entries point to Tower of Sisyphus, Helios, and Atropos

Returnal is a third-person shooter with roguelike elements. The space pilot Selene lands on the planet Atropos with her spaceship Helios and is caught in a time warp. If Selene dies, she wakes up again on her ship. She can remember what happened before she died, but loses the equipment she scavenged. In the game, the planet must be explored in order to locate a mysterious radio signal and solve the mystery of the time loop.

Details from the game have now surfaced in Steam’s database. There are references to the DLC Tower of Sisyphus, Selene’s ship Helios and the extraterrestrial planet Atropos. Already in January there were rumors about a possible PC implementation of Returnal. At that time, a job advertisement from the British Climax Studios caused a stir. Climax Studios had previously worked on the PS5 version of Returnal.

Returnal could possibly join the ranks of the formerly Playstation-exclusive games on the PC. Among other things, Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn have already been released for the PC. God of War, originally released in 2018, was also released for the computer at the beginning of the year. Just a few days after its release, the title was already Sony’s most successful game on the Steam platform.
