Windows 11: Enable desktop stickers in version 22H2 22621

from Maximilian Hohm
In Windows 11 22H2, the so-called desktop stickers should be included from version 22621. If you want to try it out now, you can do so, but you have to make a small modification to the registry. Read more about this below.

The first information was already published at the beginning of the year that Microsoft would like to insert a new design element in Windows. The so-called desktop stickers have not yet served a clear function, but they are said to be included in Windows 11 22H2 from version 22621. In order to use them, however, a small registry modification and a restart of the computer are necessary. Once these have been carried out, various stickers can be selected, which can be positioned and resized on the desktop.

How to use the stickers now:

-First the registry has to be opened. To do this, press the Windows key and R at the same time and enter “regedit”.

-Navigate to the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftPolicyManagercurrentdevice

-Now right click in the left directory tree and create a new key called “Stickers”

-In the right large window, right-click again and create a new DWORD (32-bit) value called “EnableStickers”

– Now double-click on this and set the value from 0 to 1

-Now the computer needs to be restarted once and the stickers should be available in the context menu on the desktop or in the personalization options.

The stickers can be deactivated either by opening the path and correcting the value “EnableStickers” from 1 to 0 or by changing the background image. According to information from Deskmodder, Windows seems to only save the background image with a sticker as a new background image, which means that you can quickly change it again.
