Hope for Elden Ring based on From Software’s DLC record so far

The hope of the “Elden Ring” fans paid add-on content draws heavily on the studio’s rich past when it comes to DLCs. While “Demon’s Souls” 2009 did not get an expansion after release and the sixth wedge stone also in 2020 remake remained untouched, From Software’s recent titles have almost all been blessed with DLCs.

The genre guide launched in 2011 Dark Souls received an expansion with “Artorias of the Abyss”, the sequel released in 2014 Dark Souls 2 with “Crown of the Sunken King”, “Crown of the Old Iron King” and “Crown of the Ivory King” even three DLCs.

Also the Lovecraft horror trip released in 2015 Bloodborne could look forward to an eerily beautiful expansion with “The Old Hunters”. The one released in 2016 conclusion of the trilogy, Dark Souls 3then served two DLCs, Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City, that heralded the end of the Dark Souls era.

But also some Rumors and statements from the studio give reason to hope that we can still look forward to new content for “Elden Ring”. That’s what it was called Kadokawa’s recent financial reportthe parent company of From Software, that a “Set of Measures” consider “so that the customers this title [Elden Ring] can continue to enjoy”.

In the game itself there is also a reference to new content for “Elden Ring”: The one that is very well known in the community Modder Lance McDonald found a way, the actually closed arenas in the inland to enter and came across some pretty interesting things.

That Colosseum at Limgrave is inaccessible, but anything but empty: spectator tiers, elevators and a large square in the middle are strong indications a place for PvP battles, in which you duel with other Tainted to the death. So “Elden Ring” fans could expect a multiplayer DLC like From Software has already partially included Ashes of Ariandel placed in Dark Souls 3.
