Elden Ring: Latest update makes many bosses easier

One Punch Man in Elden Ring: Streamer flattens bosses with one punch

Overall, From Software’s Elden Ring is quite a challenging game. Of course, with over 100 different bosses scattered throughout the RPG’s world, it’s not surprising that some bosses are more popular than others. For example, Malenia (Blade of Miquella) is so frustrating for many players that a real legend formed around a player who single-handedly killed the boss for desperate adventurers.

Patch 1.04 toned down frustrating boss fights

At least Malenia faces you alone, but in Elden Ring (buy now €53.98 /€50.99 ) there are also a few boss fights in which you have to defend yourself against a superior number of enemies. For example, there is the Crystalian trio, where three quite robust opponents make life difficult for you with long-range attacks and a veritable flood of attacks.

From Sotware thinks that the duo or trio boss fights in their current version are a bit too frustrating, because in patch 1.04 the developers weakened the AI of these bosses a bit. What exactly was changed was not written in the patch notes, but had to be found out by the players themselves.

This work was kindly taken on by YouTuber Illusory Wall, who also detailed all the small changes to the Elden Ring map since release in a separate video. According to the YouTuber, duo bosses are now slightly less aggressive overall. The boss who isn’t actively fighting you to the death is generally a little more relaxed and no longer constantly bombards you with his own attacks. Also, there may now be fewer “primary” attackers in an arena. As a result, you should no longer be able to attack all bosses at the same time.

Not every one of these boss fights received all of the changes. For example, the Crucible Knights or the Erdtree avatar duo only got caught by one of these nerfs. However, that was already enough to make their fight much easier than it was at release.
