There's a trick circulating in Destiny 2 to get endless legendary shards - will Bungie ban the exploiters?

A new trick is circulating in Destiny 2, with which you can generate many legendary fragments without much effort. Players are taking advantage of this right now, but will they be penalized for it?

What are Legendary Shards? There is an important premium currency in Destiny 2 that you can use to purchase special items from various vendors. The legendary fragments are still a rarity for some keepers, since you can only get them in two ways:

  • Dismantling legendary gear and weapons
  • Completing activities like the Crucible, Strikes, or Gambit

Players have now discovered a trick in Season 17 that you can use to transition from your sunken bankruptcy to a carefree guardian life.

Easy trick for quick legendary shards

We will explain the trick to you, but remember that MeinMMO does not take responsibility for possible consequences. So you bear the full risk of possible bans.

Here’s the trick: You need a lot of time, strong fingers and a huge amount of mica for the simple and easy trick. If you’re running low on Glimmer, you can drop by Rahool at the top of the tower. He provides you again with the necessary resource.

To get the fragments, you have to do the following:

  • Go to your Warden menu and select “Collections”.
  • Then select “Armor”.
  • Now go to the “Leveling” section
  • You must now draw the new blue armor from the Witch Queen expansion
  • The armor has a different name for each class
    • Warlock – Investigator suit
    • Titan – Midnight Salute Suit
    • Hunter – Snoopcut suit
  • You then restore this armor for 777 Glimmer and disassemble it immediately
  • If you did everything right, you will receive four Legendary Shards and 250 Glimmer
The investigator suit is interesting for your warlock

Normally, dismantling blue armor only grants you Glimmer. It’s also funny how the problem crept in at all. The trick was not in place when Witch Queen was released, and even so, players will not receive Legendary shards from armor with a Rare rarity. So if you’re short on cash, this trick is just what you need.

Can I get banned for this? Since this isn’t some nasty, nerve-wracking exploit that destroys other players’ gaming experience, it’s hard to predict whether exploits can be banned for it.

Bungie could still either temporarily ban you or remove your stolen Legendary Shards. Worse consequences are not to be expected, however, since the bug only relates to the economy of the game and no players have to suffer for it. So you could use it while it’s still there.

What do you think of the exploit? Are you going to use it since you’re also short on cash, or do you already have so many Legendary Shards that you don’t need those tricks anymore? Let us know in the comments!
