Buy PS5: Ticker on 01.06. – Things are getting exciting at Amazon, is the drop coming?

The situation around the PS5 remains tense. This week, however, numerous dealers could drop. Where is the refill?

Update from June 1st, 2022, 7:20 a.m.: Good morning PS5 hunters. Where should you keep your eyes open today if you want to grab a PlayStation 5?

Well, the general rule is from now on: We have a new month, so in principle almost all relevant providers are now exciting again – established supply giants such as OTTO, PlayStation Direct, Amazon, as well as MediaMarkt and Saturn. In addition, some smaller and medium-sized retailers such as MediMax, Euronics or MyToys did not drop in May. You should definitely keep an eye on these dealers from now on if you want to buy a PS5.

With regard to today, things could definitely get exciting at Amazon – on the one hand in Germany and on the other hand in Spain. 2 new bundles were recently listed at Amazon DE. There is still no Prime notice there, but you should still be careful. Because even if a drop without a Prime note is rather unlikely – Amazon has already dropped the Digital Edition out of nowhere. And at Amazon Spain (delivers to Germany without any problems), the PS5 hunter scene also thinks it is possible that the new, official Horizon bundle or the two naked versions of the console could be sold there.

In short: a drop at Amazon is not guaranteed today, but you should still be careful there at typical Amazon times (between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.). Update from May 31, 2022, 4:15 p.m.: We received a message from Munich that a local gamestop is offering the PS5 in the Horizon bundle. The console bundle was spotted at Gamestop in Munich’s PEP, a shopping center in Neuperlach. The total package consisting of console, Horizon: Forbidden West and various accessories should cost 730 euros there.

If you are looking for the PS5 and live near Munich, you should pay a visit to the gamestop in the PEP. However, other Gamestop branches could also soon offer consoles in the store, we are keeping our eyes open for further reports.

Update from 05/31/2022, 07:35 a.m: Good morning PS5 hunters. Where should you be careful today if you still want to grab a PlayStation 5?

On the one hand, Amazon DE should be exciting today – even if not necessarily in terms of a drop. A few new PS5 bundles have recently been spotted there (digi and disc versions each with an additional controller), but so far there has been no indication of Prime. However, this usually appears one day before the drop and drops usually take place on Wednesdays at the shipping giant. So even if a sale there is unlikely today, keep an eye on Amazon DE tonight and look out for the Prime notice as a potential drop harbinger for tomorrow.

And speaking of Amazon: Amazon ES could also become interesting tomorrow. The new, official Horizon bundle was listed there last week, but also not yet offered. Some assume that it could be this Wednesday. And Amazon ES is also interesting for us in Germany. Because Amazon delivers from Spain to Germany without any problems. In addition, there are no additional fees for a purchase there, and you do not need any other power cable, adapter or similar.

In general, the following also applies today and for the current week: In May, several medium-sized and smaller retailers such as Euronics, MediMax or MyToys are still missing. Since Sony is now pushing significantly more consoles for the second month in a row, it could still be exciting there this week – and in principle at any time. But since a new month is also beginning, you shouldn’t lose sight of well-known replenishment giants such as MediaMarkt, Saturn and OTTO. If Sony continues to be so generous with supplies, it is quite conceivable that something could go right at the beginning of the new month.

Buy PS5: Best console location this year – where to get supplies

Where was the last replenishment? The last drop took place on May 27th. There, the PS5 was first sold at Alternate. There was also a sale on PlayStation Direct afterwards. So that day, a few thousand consoles went over the digital counter. Here is an overview of the last drops around the PS5:

Which retailers are particularly hot? Amazon remains a particularly exciting contact point. Some new bundles for the PS5 appeared there over the weekend. While it’s not available yet and there was no Prime notice, it could well be on sale soon. There is also the Horizon bundle, which has now been sold by Amazon in some countries – but not in Germany. So it could be exciting this week – probably on Wednesday.

In addition to Amazon, retailers such as MediaMarkt, Saturn and OTTO are of course still interesting. There could be a drop almost every day. Of the small providers, Alternate, Medimax and Euronics remain hot. While there’s no sign of a new drop, Alternate regularly sells smaller batches, while Medimax and Euronics haven’t sold any PS5s this month.

Buy PS5: end of the console drought? That gives hope

How will the console situation develop? Currently there is almost only good news on the PS5 front. Recently, Sony CEO Jim Ryan promised unprecedented PS5 supplies. Add to that the falling demand, which allows many buyers to finally get their hands on a PS5.

It is also particularly interesting that many scalpers who have bought and resold hundreds of consoles have now exited. The prices on the third market have dropped drastically and it is no longer so worthwhile to resell the console. This also leaves more PS5s for the end user. If the situation continues, the PS5 drought could soon be history.
