Well-known Star Wars heroes will once again play important roles in the upcoming animated series Tales of Jedi for Disney+. This includes Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s teacher. Original actor Liam Neeson returns as voice artist.

As part of the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim (SWCA), a new animated series based on well-known Jedi from Star Wars history was unveiled. This project is called Tales of the Jedi. It’s an anthology series, so it won’t tell a continuous story, but will give different characters the spotlight in each episode. It was similar with the anime anthology series Star Wars: VISIONS, in which different animation studios told their own stories.

Which Jedi are in Tales of the Jedi?

The Tales of the Jedi SWCA panel has already revealed some well-known Jedi characters that will appear in the series. We can look forward to brand new insights into the lives of Mace Windu, Ahsoka, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku (before he was a Sith) and Qui-Gon Jinn. The latter is also voiced again by Liam Neeson, who played the character in the first prequel film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace has played. A young version of Qui-Gon will also appear, originally voiced by Liam Neeson’s son.

Most recently, Liam Neeson said he doesn’t want to be in the Star Wars series, just in the movies – but maybe that was just a distracting joke to distract from a possible cameo in the ongoing Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ .
