Dragon Age 4 finally has an official name that should look very familiar to us

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will probably be about Solas again.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will probably be about Solas again.

As early as 2018, developer BioWare teased the fourth part of the popular Dragon Age series with a first short teaser and the words ‘The Dread Wolf Rises’. Since then it has been pretty quiet about Dragon Age 4, now BioWare has a short blog post but finally gave a sign of life and revealed the official title of the sequel.

The fourth part will be called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf

The title “Dreadwolf” should not surprise most fans, after all we already know that the antagonist from Dragon Age: Inquisition will play a central role again.

In memory of: The Dread Wolf, also known as the Dread Wolf or Fen’Harel, is the title given to the elven god of treachery and rebellion who betrayed the other elven gods.

Warning: the following paragraph contains spoilers for Dragon Age: Inquisition

As we learn in Dragon Age Inquisition (or the DLC “Intruder”), behind this title is our companion Solas, an elven magician. He is responsible for the fall of the elven empire and for the fact that elves are treated like lesser beings by the other races of Thedas. Solas tries to make amends for this very mistake, even if it means destroying the world.

More Dragon Age: Dreadwolf news:

More news later this year

Not much more information can be gleaned from the blog entry. BioWare gives us at least a small teaser, because we should get more information this year.

Although we definitely no longer need to expect a 2022 release, the game seems to have progressed further: “While the game will not be released this year, we are getting closer to this next adventure.” At least that sounds like it might not be too far away. Maybe we could even get a 2023 release.
