Microsoft’s new compact laptop
The compact Surface Laptop Go from Microsoft is getting a successor. He should be able to score points above all in the school, university and work environment.
Microsoft is relaunching its compact notebook range. With the Surface Laptop Go 2, a successor to the previous model was presented, which should continue to focus on light weight and high portability.
Like its predecessor, the Surface Laptop Go 2 will have a 12.4-inch display (1536 x 1024 pixels) with a PixelSense touchscreen. Windows 11 Home for end users and Windows 10/11 Pro for business customers are preinstalled on the notebook. The aluminum laptop weighs just 1.127 kg.
In terms of hardware, the Surface Laptop Go 2 offers an 11th generation Intel Core i5 (i5-1135G7) with four cores and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. There is also 4 or 8 GB (16 GB for business users) of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of SSD storage.
Connectivity is also important, especially with mobile products like the Surface Laptop Go 2. Microsoft built in support for Wifi 6 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.1. Also on board are a USB-C port, a USB-A port, a 3.5 mm jack and a Surface Connect port.
Another important factor is the endurance of the device. According to Microsoft, up to 13.5 hours of battery life should be possible here. There is also a quick charge function to reduce loading times.
Depending on the equipment, Microsoft sets the RRP between around 670 and 1200 euros. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 should be available from June 7, 2022 in the colors ice blue, sandstone, platinum and sage.
