The Sands of Time Remake has been postponed again

A report explains the problems in the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

In 2020, Ubisoft announced a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for 2021. Fans were of course excited, but when the release date was pushed back to fiscal 2023 and the remake caused constant negative headlines about development issues, the mood shifted a bit.

Sands of Time Remake not canceled but postponed

Players began to speculate that the new title was simply put on ice, with retailers like Gamestop and Amazon no longer offering pre-orders, and even removing certain platforms entirely. While that would be a little odd given that Ubisoft only announced a month ago that development would be taking place at Ubisoft Montreal, fans of the title may have given up hope.

Luckily, the Prince of Persia remake hasn’t been shelved, but unfortunately it probably won’t work out with a release in fiscal year 2023 like Ubisoft did in one Statement to IGN reveals:

“The Development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake (buy now ) is now managed by Ubisoft Montreal. We’re proud of the work done by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Montreal will benefit from their insights as the new team continues the work of delivering a great remake.”

“As a result, we are no longer aiming for a FY23 release and the game has been delisted. If players wish to cancel their pre-order, they are welcome to contact their retailer. You will be kept informed of the project as development progresses. “
